A Fowler's "Twelve Ten" Circular Calculator in good working order, c1936.

The company was created in 1898 and this particular model was made for use by Architects, Surveyors, Builders and suppliers to the building trade for the conversion from imperial to metric.

The calculator has two adjusting knobs, one for rotating the dial and the other for turning the cursor.

Fowler & Co. was based at the time in Station Works, Chapel St, Sale, nr Manchester. The back is stamped with MADE IN ENGLAND.
