c1895 Oil on Board "Corsican Man"

A fine, late 19th Century oil on board portrait of a Corsican or Sardinian man signed by the artist Morentaine.

The portrait is very well executed. The man, possibly a fisherman, is in traditional period costume.

The picture is mounted in a black ebonised frame with slight damage to the bottom corners. There are a few small woodworm holes, but these do not detract from the overall appearance.
