c1800 Chinese Painted China Frog

A very attractive Chinese painted china frog, probably dating to around 1800.

The frog has been made in a slip mold and been and then hand painted in ochre orange with blue gold and light duck egg blue. Some of the orange flowers appear to have been block painted on.

The frog is sitting with its front legs cradling the back of its head as if contemplating.

The base is signed with a name character and special collection, in Chinese characters. A fine piece.
