c1790 Swansea Pottery Experimental Pair of China Plates

A very fine pair of late 18th Century Swansea Pottery experimental china blue and white plates in very fine condition.

They represent the transition from soft paste to bone china and date from around 1790.

The decoration is in the Chinese style, reminiscent of what would later be termed willow pattern.

The plates are finer than their British counterparts and are impressed SWANSEA on the back.

There is a copper brown border to the rime of the plates and they show no chips or cracks.
