An extremely rare WW2 Waffen SS Panzer/Assault gun Officer's uniform to an Obersturmfuhrer (Lieutenant) of what is possibly the 2nd Panzer Aufklarer Abteilung (Reconnaissance) Battalion of the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich". The tunic is in green woolen material with artificial silk lining. It is in the standard SS cut wrapover tunic with a one piece back panel and a vertical cut breast flap. The collar patches are aluminium embroidered sigrunes and metal pips. The shoulder boards are aluminium thread on black backing with red piping for artillery. There is a 2 numeral and gilded pip on each. The eagle on the arm is the Officer's version, "Bevo" woven version. The inside lining is stamped 43 - 49 - 100 - 74 - 60 in ink. The buttons are green plastic for the large ones and green painted metal for the smaller size. There is a 2nd class Iron Cross ribbon through the button hole and loops for two pip back awards. There is no evidence of there having been a cuff title on the arm (no shadow). The tunic is in very good condition without any tears or mothing, size appears to be 42 inch chest.

The Waffen SS peaked cap is in green gabardine material with red piping and a black velvet band. The eagle and skull are in fine zinc and are stamped SS 475/42 and RZM. The inside is worn, with sweat and dirt staining and is stamped with the maker's mark as seen in the photographs. Size is approximately 59.

The trousers are private purchase in black wool in the cut for Panzer troops. The size seems 36 waist, with no damage or holes. A very rare uniform circa 1943-44.
